Adaptive systems are systems that have been designed to interact with the external and internal environment. To be able to organize by objects it is necessary to use both adaptive and administrative systems to organize the work processes.

Adaptive systems are necessary to expand the boundaries of work.

Thus, continuous improvement, customer relationship management and project management are paradigmatic cases of adaptive systems in work processes.

Adaptive systems are necessary to provide the maximal strategy based on their flexibility and feedback capacity while administrative systems are necessary to establish a secure operational and control activity.

The use of adaptive systems in the companies has been disregarded in the past because the control and operational activities prevailed over the market growth and competition.

June 1976 was the beginning of the research of evolution in the field of complexity science. It was focused on approaching the nature of reality which required an ontological approach to the basic research and an object driven approach in the field of application.

The research drove to the discovery of the ontogenetic intelligence of nature, the unicist ontology, the unicist logic, the complexity science research methodology and the human ontointelligence.

This provided the basic knowledge to develop more than 3,500 applicative researches in the field of individual, institutional and social evolution that were finished until September 2010. The research work is still ongoing.

The Quality Assurance concept implies that in the activity, which must bring about an added value, there is a Redundant Functionality and a Self-exclusion System within a framework of a Redundant Operational Method.

In order for knowledge to be certain, the basis for the use to produce elements, it is necessary to have been ‘redundant” from different objective perspectives, be clear as to the scope of such knowledge (think and say “I don’t know” is to have a self-exclusion system that promotes certainty of what one knows), and count on a method that permits reaching a certain knowledge as of different points of view.

Quality assurance is of vital importance in the life sciences fields. In those fields in which the lack of quality is not a life or death, success or failure determinant, the possibility of conceiving a Quality Assurance process turns distant.

There is only quality assurance in those cultures and activities in which there is the attitude that things should be functionally right and certain as far as the value they add.

The Unicist Standard for business objects building defines the norms that business objects have to fulfill to generate results.

Extreme design, the use of unicist modeling and the structure of the ontology of objects allow building unicist business objects.

Unicist business objects (UBO) are encapsulated adaptive systems that produce predefined results that can be inserted in work processes to increase productivity and quality and to save energy.

Classification of objects based on their use

Drivers: they are objects that produce results within work processes.

Catalysts: they are objects that are designed to accelerate drivers, tasks or processes.

Entropy inhibitors: Their role is to minimize the entropy of processes and results.

Inhibitors: They are objects to inhibit anti-conceptual actions in processes.

Gravitational objects: They are objects that generate an influential context that promotes the need of the results provided by tasks, objects or processes.

Objects do not substitute people’s responsibility, they provide a safer, faster and energy saving solution to be installed in work processes.

That is why objects can only be installed in organizations where the leaders assumed the responsibility for the results produced by the processes they manage.

The Unicist Standard for Business Organization

The Unicist Standard (US) provides the procedures of the action to design and implement a business strategy. The US in itself is integrated by three objects:

1)  The Unicist Object Driven Organization
2)  The Unicist Object Driven Management
3)  The Unicist Object Driven Strategy

The active function is given by the Object Driven Management because the operational value of the standard is given by its capacity to integrate the necessary hardware, software and peopleware to make things happen.

The use of an Object Driven Strategy saves energy. Energy can only be optimized when a strategic path is followed. If there is no strategic path, action usually includes many course changes to adapt to an uncertain environment which consumes a lot of energy.

Of course there are businesses that are adjacent to others without pretending to exist as an institution and therefore need no strategy. In this case the US adds no value.

Managing the US requires time in order to integrate it in the long term memory. The Unicist Standard cannot be used as a “copy and paste” standard. If it is used as such, it produces paradoxical results

The nature of the Unicist Cybernetic business approach can be described as follows:

This implies that the purpose of unicist cybernetics is the business that is being developed (Business Strategy).

That is why it is necessary to be fully aware of the business to design the active function first, which is based on the Object Driven Organization (Work) and the energy conservation function afterwards which is based on the Natural Organization.

At an operational level, it can be said that the maximal strategy is driven by the object driven organization and the minimum strategy is given by the natural organization.

Unicist Conceptual Design of Information Technology

The most difficult aspect of adaptive system design is its conceptual design. As adaptive systems have to be considered with their open boundaries, they need to be designed considering results as their unique purpose.

This doesn’t differ much from the design of systemic systems but what really makes a great difference is the fact that the definition of the process to be developed has to be considered as the energy conservation function and the input as the active function.

This sounds counterintuitive for most of the designers of administrative systems.  Because in administrative systems the input is the energy conservation function and the procedure is the active function.

That is why dealing with adaptive systems requires people who work with these systems, because they need to follow the ontology of evolution, while the development of administrative systems has to follow the ontology of involution.

We strongly recommend reflecting on the difference.
