The difference between both types of coaching is given by the focus of their activity. While executive coaching is centrally focused on the internal time of the coachees, the business coaching is focused on the integration of the business technologies, the synchronicity of processes and the time management of the coachee (internal time).
That is why the economic value of a business coaching process is notoriously higher than the economic value of executive coaching.
Business coaching implies assuming the responsibility of introducing technologies that allow upgrading the productivity and quality of business processes. In other words, business coaching is focused on results and growth.
It requires being able to diagnose the possibilities of the business, of the projects that are managed and of the coachee. A business coaching process can only be proposed when the diagnoses show that concrete results can be achieved.
Business coaching has to work as a catalyst that accelerates business processes while it inhibits their entropy. This implies that “coaching” can not be part of the system of a company. It is just an external catalyst. The success of a business coach is given by the results produced by the technologies that have been introduced.
On the one hand, business coaches need to have the concepts of the business, of the business functions and of the talents of the coachees. On the other hand, coaches only have to manage the talents of the coachees.
The “Business Coaches” and the “Executive Coaches” are two different species in the business world.
