The Unicist Approach to Efficacy in Work Processes

The Unicist Approach defines that efficacy is the capacity of individuals to produce results in a responsible way. This implies that efficacy requires awareness of what one is doing.

The unicist ontogenetic map defines that the integration of the levels of efficiency, efficacy and automation produce the effectiveness in work processes.

To change effectiveness in processes it is necessary to manage the unique manageable sub-concept which is efficacy.

Human activity needs to be managed also if effectiveness needs to be improved within the boundaries of an existing system. That is why the change of effectiveness needs to be introduced managing the active function.

The driver to change efficiency is also a human activity. That is why efficacy has to be the driver.

Changing the efficiency level may require a significant modification of the automation level of an activity. This generates a mutation of the work process.

The fundamentals of efficacy can by defined as:

The identification with the role: Efficacy requires that individuals are identified with the role they are fulfilling when they work. The role can be defined as the social identity of the individual.

The identification with the task: Efficacy requires having the necessary competencies to develop a task that allows enjoying the work.

Knowledge: Knowledge implies having the necessary “knowledge objects” to do the work stored in the long term memory.

The efficacy of individuals can be calculated using the mathematics of the Unicist Logic:

Unicist Efficacy = I(R) * I(T) * K

Individuals need to assume the responsibility of working in the field of their efficacy which defines the limits of the possibilities for assuming responsibilities to produce results.

Evolution implies developing the active function, while the energy conservation function tends to compensate the changes or not.

When the purpose is significantly changed, which is the case of automation, a mutation of work stations is being produced.

In the industrial fields, efficiency and efficacy can be managed using the unicist fishbone which has been developed, based on the Ishikawa model, integrating all the elements that are part of a unicist ontological structure.

Repairing actions are the antidote for active inactions

Active inaction is an addiction that generates a high level of pleasure to those who practice it.

The objective of those that practice it is to avoid their participation in an activity by transforming their active role into a judging role, creating the necessary justifications to avoid any action.

They naturally seek for the shadow of any light and, as any light generates a shadow, they feel fulfilled by finding it and exerting the power of inaction that is justified by the premise that they want to avoid the existence of the shadow.

Forcing people to repair what they produce damages is a natural antidote because the cost of the repairing actions. In the long run people will seek for pleasure somewhere else.

The antidote

In a cooperative teamwork every damage produced by a member to another participant needs to be repaired. This repair is a cost the damager has to pay in order to reconcile with the group.

A repairing action implies regretting the damaging action, doing common good actions (for the members of the group) and substituting what has been damaged.

But this rule does not apply in competitive environments where competition prevails over cooperation. In these environments damagers are not responsible for the damage produced as long as they consider their actions as justified, unavoidable or necessary.

In actual teamwork many of the damaging actions are non-conscious. They are justified if they happen in a competitive environment, but require repair in a cooperative context, (intentions do not count).

The rules of an environment define the cooperative or competitive prevalence. Individuals need to follow these rules to be functional. For example the building of “spirit de corps” requires, on the one hand, the dominance of cooperation in the internal relationship in a group but, simultaneously, a strong competition with the external environment.

Cultures like the Japanese and the German are based on cooperation. The institution of “hara-kiri” is the expression of the need to repair in extreme conditions.

Depending on the goals, cooperation or competition have to prevail or need to be integrated to build social capital. Both are ethical behaviors with different functionalities.

Repairing actions are necessary to build social capital or to cooperate, but are unnecessary in competitive environments. In these environments damages are part of the rules of the game. Sorry, nothing personal… is a saying that suffices.

Approaching fundamentals to deal with adaptive systems

Fundamentals define the nature of reality. The unicist technology for diagnostics approaches problems based on their nature.

Problems turn complex when results must be achieved, and require a high accuracy of the diagnoses, prognoses and action plans to solve them. Unicist technologies for diagnostics were developed to ensure results.

The unicist approach considers any specific reality, on which influence intends to be exerted, as a unified field. This is the origin of the name unicist.

Access the visual guide to the Unicist Standard in Business at:
https://www.unicist.net/management/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/unicist_standard_guide_en.pdf

Diagnosing implies describing the functionality of a reality. And this description includes the internal cause-effect relations, whether they are univocal or bi-univocal.

From that point on, a prognosis of the natural evolution of that reality has to be developed and then an action plan to influence such reality is included in the final diagnosis. Unicist diagnoses include: descriptions, prognoses and action plans.

Understanding Cultures: The Archetype of China

The archetype of China is a unique case of a culture that has the capacity to grow based on the internal consistency of its model, a model that became complementary to the globalization process.

We strongly recommend watching the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mRlgQKWlnQ

China’s Structure

China is a culture based on the consistency of the social and individual efforts and the capacity of accepting trade-offs to achieve the goals of the country.

The Chinese model has to be understood in itself without comparing it with other countries. It has multiple economic models working simultaneously. It is neither a communist nor a capitalist model. It uses multiple unique solutions which imply permanent trade-offs between the different models to achieve its growth.

The Communist Party can be considered as homologous to the ancient nobility in Europe but representing the interests of China as a country and the needs of its population.

Entering the Communist Party needs to be earned because within the party there has to be an ideological consistency to allow a democratic behavior. The Communist Party is the “Establishment” of China.

Confucius’ Concept

Confucianism is a functional philosophy for a culture that needs to grow in a context of an extremely large country with a large population. Order is necessary to sustain consistency.

Minorities in China have to behave within the limits of the explicit and implicit Chinese model. Censorship and self-censorship are a need to avoid that the culture loses its consistency. But although censorship becomes necessary in this context, it is also the implicit weakness of the Chinese archetype.

Cultures evolve based on their implicit weaknesses. Therefore, a generational change can be expected in this field depending on the new trade-offs the culture will make.

A Shielded Culture

China has been, is and will be a shielded archetype, protecting its culture and beliefs in order to ensure its consistency and allowing making the necessary trade-offs to grow.

This shield was represented by the Chinese Wall in the past, and now it is represented by the multiple regulations that establish the framework of the country.

Maximal Strategy

The maximal strategy of China is driven by the working capacity of the culture and the catalyst for the minimum strategy is their cultural shield that ensures the consistency of its actions. The cultural shield works as a protection from foreign influence and internal distortions.

Minimum Strategy

The minimum strategy is driven by the individual working capacity of its population. The entropy inhibitor, to ensure the achievement of growth, is the ideological shield that ensures the focus of the efforts on the objectives that are being achieved.

The personal capacity of making trade-offs is installed in the population and makes individuals extremely focused achievers.

To apprehend the Chinese archetype it is necessary to understand Doers, avoiding ideological, religious or social comparisons. China was, is and will be unique. China doesn’t base its expansion on exporting culture, but on exporting products.

Unicist Strategy: Developing Academic Alliances

We are negotiating alliances with different institutions to expand the unicist approach worldwide for the next generation leaders.

The Unicist Standard implies dealing with the nature of businesses. It is a logical approach that provides a reasonable ontological structure to deal with businesses.

Although empirical approaches are included at an operational level, this approach is a breakthrough to them, providing the fundamentals to deal with the nature of businesses.

Access the discovery of the Unicist Ontology of Adults’ Learning Context at: https://www.unicist.net/management/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/learning_context_en.pdf

The Unicist Strategy Programs at The Unicist Corporate University are analogous to medical residencies. In medical residencies real patients are being cured while physicians learn to manage their specialty. A Unicist Business Residency is an environment in which complex problems of real clients are being solved while participants learn to manage the technologies to approach them. Only clients that “pertain” to the participants, who obtain the benefit for their success and pay the price of failure, work as real clients.

Unicist Future Research: the Nature of Democracy

The video on “The Nature of Democracy: The role of democracy in political, religious, military and business institutions” is now available.

The discovery of the unicist ontology of Democracy in human behavior allowed the emulation of nature and the description of the “objects” that define Democracy. Nature is organized by objects. Understanding the behavior of nature, i.e. wolves packs, democracy can be seen in action.

This is a synthesis on the live clinic led by Peter Belohlavek as part of the Goodwill Network activities for the community.
You will be surprised by one of the most significant discoveries: the unicist ontology of democracy. You will live the nature of democracy and its applications in the political and institutional fields.

You will see how democracy, in the wide sense, is in the nature of human evolution. But you will also see the limits of democracy.

The emulation of nature in a Democratic system requires the existence of integrated objects that define the functionality of Democracy.

This video is a mind-opener in the field of macro-democracy and a breakthrough in the field of applied democracy in one’s action field.

Peter Belohlavek says that Democracy was, is and will be the most efficient way to live, work and evolve.

Understanding that democracy implies “Cooperation in Diversity” is the challenge.

The Unicist Standard needs to be a Rolls-Royce

Benchmarking Rolls-Royce is necessary for all those products or activities that are considered prestigious by the community and that need to sustain their seeking for perfection to achieve their credibility in the market.

In the following lines you can find the answers to the questions posed in this previous post:
http://www.unicist.net/partners-news/benchmarking-is-the-unicist-standard-a-rolls-royce/

A Rolls-Royce is an extremely prestigious car because it has extreme functionality, quality, added value and reliability.

The integration of these four extreme characteristics makes its positioning as a prestigious car possible.

The purpose of a “Rolls-Royce” is to satisfy the feeling of having achieved perfection. Perfection is considered as something that satisfies 100% the expectancy of the buyer. This means that a “Rolls-Royce” satisfies the needs of the buyer considered as an individual, as part of a group and within her/his social environment.

Every activity or product that requires perfection, in the above described sense, needs to position as a “Rolls-Royce”.  This can be frequently seen in medicine, in politics, in strategy, and in all those fields where the value added is extreme and extreme reliability is expected.

The extreme functionality mentioned above has two aspects. It has to be extremely functional as a device but also extremely functional in its operation. This implies that no one can expect a superior functionality in the market.

The need for extreme quality implies extreme quality assurance and extreme control. Thus reliability and extreme added value are sustained.

Therefore the process of Rolls-Royce building includes an extremely strict concept, its update in the field of scientific possibilities, the management of all the techniques necessary to achieve perfection and last, but not least, the necessary art to make the perfection perceivable by the community.

Rolls-Royce building and positioning is not a question of choice. It is a question of beliefs. But it needs to be said that this does not guarantee success in business.

The Unicist Fundamentals of Mozilla

A navigator is the person on board of a ship or aircraft responsible for its navigation. The navigator is not the captain, but provides the information to the captain in order to make adequate decisions. Therefore, the navigator’s primary responsibility is to be aware of the ship or aircraft’s position at all times.

A Navigator on the Internet is an object that substitutes the individual that navigates a ship or airplane to position the user in the World Wide Web.

In business there are many activities that are homologous to navigators:

-Market Research
-Strategic Positioning
-Diagnosing
-Scenario Building
-Information Technology, etc.

In order to benchmark Mozilla’s experience we would consider that it is a way to navigate the Internet providing alternatives to the “captain” in order to use the platform as a tool to develop the activity s/he has planned.

The Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) is simpler. It provides basically a rigid navigation platform to ensure that individuals can access information. IE doesn’t pretend to be an adaptive platform. It pretends to be a simple access to the Internet. Thus it is the natural navigator for individuals who just use Internet as an access to information.

The more participative the design of the navigators, the more flexible they can work. The more flexible they are, the higher the level of the “persons” to deal with them.

Mozilla is an example that can only be benchmarked if it is experienced in real use, as well as its comparison with the Internet Explorer Concept.

This benchmark will help you design adaptive systems. The Unicist Standard allows developing flexible designs with quality assurance.

We recommend listening to John Lilly’s lecture, CEO of Mozilla.  You will access the core fundamental of Mozilla’s success.

The Unicist Archetype of Japan

Japan has a very powerful archetype to sustain its ultimate purpose that is growth within a communitarian environment and a deep sense of loyalty.  Thus reliability is a natural consequence.

To understand the Japanese archetype we recommend listening to the lecture you find at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8vxkTozAdE

Cultures that have a strong drive towards growth cannot accept the defeat of their leaders. The elite of the culture needs to represent the values of the archetype.

The purpose of the maximal strategy of the Japanese culture is the expansion of the community based on the members’ pride for their work and sustained by their collective intelligence as a community or group.

Collective intelligence is in Japan the catalyst of their growth. Therefore there is a need for  integrating the values of the community in order to be able to exert collective intelligence.

Individual intelligence is the entropy inhibitor of the Japanese archetype. It allows individuals to adapt to the conditions of the situation in order to achieve growth.

Loyalty is the final purpose of the minimum strategy. This means that individuals who are not loyal to the structure of the society are considered as aliens.

The integration of aliens implies a very slow process in order to avoid the loss of the roots of the culture.

Strong cultures as Japan respect foreigners based on their values and deeds. Dealing with Japan as an outsider is easy if one accepts that one is a foreigner. Respecting its archetype is the first step to deal with the Japanese community.
