Unicist ontological reverse engineering approach

Ontological reverse engineering is the process of discovering the ontological principles of an object, system or reality through the analysis of its ontological structure, function and operation.

Ontological reverse engineering is the unicist mechanical process to discover or rediscover the nature of an object of reality that is being researched.

It is a technological approach that becomes necessary when dealing with the nature of problems.

It is the basic tool for complex problem solving.

Without being able to deal with the reverse engineering process the nature of problems cannot be approached.

This is the real limit of the problems an individual can solve.

2012, the Year of the Possible

This year The Unicist Research Institute has celebrated the 35th anniversary with the most fruitful research effort in their history having finished more than 600 researches including some of them than demanded far more than 20 years (consciousness, unified field of human adaptive systems, etc). They made 600 new aspects in the field of individual, institutional and social fields become possible.

The unicist approach is based on finding out what is possible in order to focus on it. The unicist approach deals with the “possible”, defined as a noun. It has to be considered that a possibility is a conditional situation while the “possible” is an assertive fact.

What is possible sustains success. Everything that is possible can be achieved. But this has a problem: while it provides the security of what can be done, it demands the freedom of assuming the responsibility for doing it.

The crises in the world happen because something was not “possible” but this situation was disregarded. Failures are always a consequence of someone trying to do something impossible or of something possible that was not done because people did not assume the responsibility.

That is why The Unicist Research Institute promotes:

35th Anniversary of The Unicist Research Institute

June 1976 was the beginning of the research of evolution in the field of complexity science. It was focused on approaching the nature of reality which required an ontological approach to the basic research and an object driven approach in the field of application.

The research drove to the discovery of the ontogenetic intelligence of nature, the unicist ontology, the unicist logic, the complexity science research methodology and the human ontointelligence.

This provided the basic knowledge to develop more than 3,500 applicative researches in the field of individual, institutional and social evolution that were finished until September 2010. The research work is still ongoing.

We would like to share with you this celebration giving you access to the book on:

Unicist Ethics: The Ethics of Doers

We consider it will allow you to expand your boundaries in work and businesses.

You can access the book at: http://www.unicist.org/deb_doers.php

This anniversary is a very special one, because it follows a turning point in our global expansion that took place during the last year.

Introduction to the unicist management of Change Resistance

Resistance to change can be produced by the change itself or by the intrinsic needs of individuals. When a diagnosis is made in order to improve a business it produces a change resistance in itself.

It is impossible to avoid that the needs of individual be affected. Understanding the functionality of change resistance will help you to manage the information of diagnoses in order to minimize its negative effect.

While pre-concepts are functional to solve the problems of reality, individuals appear to assume the responsibility of making things happen.

The acid test to evaluate individuals’ responsibility occurs when reality changes and the pre-concepts are not functional to solve the existent problems.

In that case there are three possible alternatives:

Case 1: The individual accepts that a change occurred and that he has to learn how to manage the new situation. In this case, learning takes place. (See Unicist Ontology of Learning and its taxonomy in the unicist bibliography).

Case 2: The individual suffers of innovation blindness and cannot see the change (See unicist papers published on the research of Innovation Blindness)

Case 3: The individual resists the change trying to return to the former state.

Change resistance passes through three stages in order to avoid a change:

1) Dominant influence to avoid change – Stage 2 starts if stage 1 fails
2) Manipulative influence to avoid change – Stage 3 starts if stage 2 fails
3) Destruction and self-destruction to avoid change

Unicist Tweetinar on Ontologies for Engineering

The use of unicist ontological analysis provided the foundations for conceptual design, reengineering and ontological reverse-engineering.

It allowed the development of the ontological structures of engineering processes that allow the building of solutions for complex adaptive systems.

We invite you to participate in a Unicist Tweetinar with Peter Belohlavek on May 17 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm (New York Time) that includes the Unicist Ontologies for Engineering. It will be developed at http://www.twitter.com/uniciststandard

Humans use mental pre-built structures to approach reality

Object driven thinking is humans’ natural approach to reality. Human mind approaches reality using cognitive objects.

Let us consider an example: The way a chess master approaches a multiple-game party.

This case has been studied by different researchers that concluded that a master recalls the multiple objects s/he has in his/her mind to categorize the situation of the opponents.

A cognitive object is a structure that contains knowledge, the action procedure, the groundings of such object, and the opinion on which it is based.

The knowledge is necessary to build an understandable description of a reality. The action procedure structures the usefulness of the knowledge.

The foundations sustain the meaningfulness of knowledge. Foundations are the basis for integrating the objects into a structure or network of objects.

Opinions are the “doctrine”, or secure knowledge, on which cognitive objects are built.

Based on the book “The Unicist Standard to Manage the Nature of Businesses”.
