Heroes make societies evolve. Their sacrifice is what makes a society shift to a superior level. That is why cultures that foster heroism, based on a strong nationality, evolve faster than those societies that look aside when heroes try to fulfill their deeds. Understanding the functionality of heroism and being able to recognize the difference between heroes and pseudo-heroes helps to understand the present and forecast the future of a society.
