Unicist Binary Actions

Discovery of the Roots of Objection Management in Everyday Life

It demanded several years of research at The Unicist Research Institute to find the functionalist principles of objections to manage the roots of the objections people pose when dealing with the real world.

Objections are defined as the questioning process of proposals to confirm their utility, which includes inhibiting objections that deal with the personal needs of the people involved, and constructive objections, that deal with the functionality of the propositions.

Objections are posed in spaces where there exists an interest in something which necessarily generates doubts until the match between the needs behind the interest and the value proposition has been confirmed.

Constructive objections are the natural objections that are needed to accept a proposal. They are the sign of interest in an idea or proposal which generates the need of the use of a destructive test to confirm their functionality.

In the world of competition, the dominant objections are the inhibiting objections. The problem of these objections is that their intention is to destroy or degrade value propositions to ensure the comfort zone of the one who is evaluating a proposition. It also ensures their feeling of superiority.

This objection management approach was developed to manage the objections in all the fields where rational decisions are made. It does not apply to instincts driven decisions. It applies to personal propositions, political, and to business propositions.

Any proposal naturally triggers objections. The use of objection management catalysts requires anticipating the natural objections that are triggered by a proposition. Their use in any propositions ensures results by expanding possibilities that avoid inhibiting objections and foster constructive objections. Therefore, the knowledge of the natural objections is necessary to design propositions. It is the core of the success of any proposal.

We Invite to Adopt the Functionalist Approach

The goal of the development of functionalist technologies was to manage the root-causes of problems, build solutions and develop intelligent systems and cobots (intelligent collaborative robots) to manage adaptive environments.

The functionalist technologies also simplified the management of incidents, by transforming urgent problems into structural solutions, managing the concepts and fundamentals of the functions involved to define the actions that ensure results.

The use of Unicist AI, which is a fundamentals-based AI that is supported by the unicist logic, allowed developing the adaptive automation of processes needed to manage the adaptability and customer orientation introduced by the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The objective of the functionalist approach was to find the functional knowledge that ensured the generation of value. This led to the development of a scientific approach to adaptive systems, that required finding the functional structures that drive the functionality of such adaptive systems.

These functions are described by the unicist ontology, which describes the functionality of what is being studied, and allows defining the ontogenetic maps of functions.

Concept was the name that was given to this functionality of things because this word is used, in plain language, to explain the functionality of something. From a functional point of view, there are three types of concepts that explain different aspects of the real world:

  1. Intrinsic concepts that describe how and why things work.
  2. Extrinsic concepts that describe the use value of things, define their usability and their adaptability.
  3. Mental concepts that describe the concepts people have in mind that drive their actions.

The structure of a concept is defined by the fundamentals of the aspects of the real world that are involved and define the root drivers of its functionality. On the other hand, its dysfunctionality defines the root causes of the functional problems that might appear.

This functionalist approach drove the development of functionalist technologies that simplify the management of adaptive environments. These technologies allowed developing the necessary methodologies and methods that simplify the management of adaptive environments.

Lecture: The Unicist Theory of Functionality applied to Business

This is an introduction to the Unicist Theory of Functionality, developed by Peter Belohlavek at The Unicist Research Institute, that introduced a simplification in the development of solutions in adaptive environments. It allows making a logical approach to the real world, developing the functional structures of solutions and the operational processes to make them happen.

The Unicist Theory of Functionality affirms and demonstrates that there is nothing in the universe, that is part of a system, that does not work with a purpose, an active and entropic function, and an energy conservation function. This triadic structure works through binary actions that produce the functionality of any entity or process, whatever its kind.

The following discoveries were the milestones of the development of the theory of functionality: complex systems research method (1980), functionality of human ontointelligence (1984), the ontogenetic intelligence of nature (1998), the unicist ontology of biological systems (2012) and the unicist ontology of wide and restricted contexts (2017).

This breakthrough provided the structure for functional knowledge that gave birth to binary actions, unicist functional design, and the use of catalysts to expand the functionality of things.

Why an Evolutionary Approach?

The Unicist Evolutionary Approach is a fundamental approach to businesses that integrates a strategic approach to business functions, business intelligence and data management to generate sustainable growth. This approach integrates business growth with profitability and sustainability to increase the business value.

The Drivers of the Unicist Evolutionary Approach

The unicist evolutionary approach emulates the triadic organization of nature to foster the evolution of organizations and ensure their sustainability. Evolution needs to be managed to build sustainable organizations in adaptive environments.

The research of business functions and processes that has been developed since 1976, allowed defining their fundamentals.

The unicist fundamental approach to businesses has several precedents:

  1. Fundamental Analysis that allows defining the intrinsic stock value
  2. The Ishikawa method to manage root causes, based on the fundamentals of manufacturing quality
  3. The Overall Equipment Effectiveness method, of Seiichi Nakajima, that manages the fundamentals of effectiveness

The main epistemological precedents of the triadic structure of fundamentals can be found in Immanuel Kant, Charles S. Peirce and the Tao.

Organizational sustainability is based on the use of unicist universal strategies that allow developing future scenarios and building maximal strategies to grow and minimum strategies to ensure results. This unicist strategic approach emulates the functionality of living beings in nature.

This unicist evolutionary approach drives the sustainability of organizations ensuring the achievement of short- and long-term objectives.

Unicist Innovation Strategy

The purpose of innovation is to overcome scarcity. Only people or cultures, who have the will, find the way to overcome scarcity: this is the cultural context that fosters innovation. The driver of innovation is human creation. The word creation is used in the sense of recreation. Humans create based on the existing energy.

Unicist Innovation Strategy

The research on the process of innovation led to the ontological structure of innovation, which is defined as follows:

Four structural segments were identified. These segments of innovators are described as: Artisans, Technologists, Inventors and Discoverers.

The homeostatic function of innovation is freedom. This sounds paradoxical, because we define freedom as the path towards security to innovate. Innovation is sustained by internal and external freedom.

Cultures only develop innovations in the fields where such freedom exists. Censorship or self-censorship inhibits research and innovations.

That is why there are cultures where innovations are centered on arts or technologies, without entering the field of scientific innovation. Social capital, defined as the strength of the bonds among the members of a society, sustains innovations.

Business Growth: The Unicist Critical Mass Method

The Unicist Critical Mass Method (UCMM) is a strategic approach to define the processes established by the business architecture in a way that ensures the results to be achieved.

Unicist Critical Mass MethodThe Unicist Logical Approach requires the use of critical masses in the adaptive business processes. A Unicist Critical Mass is the smallest amount of force that is needed to generate the integration of the elements of the unified field of a human complex adaptive system to produce results.

The Unicist Critical Mass Method (UCMM) is a design process that allows integrating the business architecture with the necessary synchronicity to be able to have a critical mass to add value and take advantage of opportunities. It requires a natural object driven organization with an adequate quality assurance process.

The quality assurance process that is included in the Unicist Critical Mass Method is based on having secure knowledge, on the use of destructive and non-destructive pilot tests to define the limits and validity of the solutions and on the existence of plans A, B, C and D to ensure results.

The Method

The UCMM follows the taxonomy and the ontological algorithm of the ontogenetic maps that correspond to the function of a business unit or process. The taxonomy defines the integration of the objects or concepts that are included and the ontological algorithm defines the process.

Generic Ontogenetic MapThe problem of using this method is that it is a strategic method, with strict hierarchical and relational rules to be applied but where the components are adaptive systems in themselves, like business objects, that need to be considered as having open boundaries and interdependent elements.

Strategic methods need to be apprehended as a unified field having a positive solution thinking mind. If we take a look at the abstract ontological structure of an ontogenetic map, it can be seen that there are three pilot tests and a previous launching evaluation in any adaptive system.

The idea of a concept (see 1 in graph) is the starting point that opens the possibilities of an individual to participate in the use of the UCMM.

Everything starts with a very simple and transparent approach to reality where the idea is installed in an ambiguous way and those who participate start working with it according to their own perception of reality.

Critical mass implies integrating the elements that are part of a unified field and this has to happen in a hierarchical order and a relational conjunction.

The hierarchical order follows the evolution law and the relational conjunction implies that the distance of the events has to be according to the necessary timing to generate a synchronicity of the elements to work as a unit to produce results.

Critical Mass Method SchedulingEvery event of the process of the UCMM has two schedules that have to be followed. Without following them there is no possibility of achieving a critical mass.

For each event to be synchronic within the whole process it has to take place within a framework of time, no sooner than the earliest implementation time, and no later than the latest implementation time. Outside this timeframe the event lacks synchronicity and is therefore dysfunctional for the creation of a critical mass to produce a result.

Paradoxically, while each event needs to work as a unit within the system, having its own force, this means that it needs to be autonomous, and be able to work as an independent unit, at the same time, each event is required to work interdependently to produce a unique integrated result.

Discovering the natural structure using reverse engineering

Ontointelligence defines the capacity of individuals to deal with complex problems. Ontointelligence is integrated by the individuals’ strategic intelligence, their type of logical thinking and their ethical intelligence.

Ontological Reverse EngineeringThis defines the focus of an individual’s activity, the value s/he adds to the environment, the capacity to forecast the future and the field in which an individual is naturally successful.

Intelligence evolves when an individual matures. The maturity permits an individual to achieve the maximal level of influence on reality.

Backward-chaining thinking implies being able to think from the end to the beginning. Consider a mounting line. It is the capacity of an individual to decompose the final “product” into its components.

When we are talking about ontological reverse engineering it means that in this process the individual is able to find the nature of a specific reality. To do so, an individual has to be able to discover the structure of the nature of that reality.

The ontological reverse engineering process is the basic approach to rediscover the concepts of a reality that have been discovered. And in order to do this, individuals need to discover the components of the “mounting line” that define the final reality until they had found the objects that integrate that reality.

The Power of Unicist Object Driven Continuous Improvement

The purpose of continuous improvement is to increase effectiveness.

Unicist Continuous Improvement1The active principle that sustains the maximal strategy is driven by innovation and the energy conservation principle that sustains the minimum strategy is based on quality assurance.

Unicist continuous improvement integrates innovation to improve the processes and objects that are being used to implement medium and /or big changes, using quality assurance, the client centered management model and the personalized organization model to ensure the achievement of a higher level of effectiveness.

Maximal strategies are driven by innovation. They are put into action by the implementation of big changes that go beyond the existing boundaries of the present operation and are sustained by the external need represented by the client centered management.

Minimum strategies are driven by quality assurance, put into action by the development and implementation of medium changes and sustained by the personalized organization that ensures an effective participative action model.

The operational aspects of this unicist continuous improvement process can be defined as:

1) Internal Project Managers

There have to be internal project managers who participate in a learning program to deal with a unicist strategic approach to change and continuous improvement.

2) Unicist Change Management Technology

The unicist change management technology has specific objects, procedures and methods to be used to manage change.

3) External Quality Assurance

Quality assurance is a core aspect that needs to be provided externally in order to avoid paradoxical results when introducing changes. The quality assurance process includes both object driven quality assurance and personal control of objects and processes.

4) Objects as drivers, entropy inhibitors and catalysts of change

The unicist approach is based on the use of objects to drive change, inhibit the loss of energy and catalyze the speed of the change. The shorter the transition is, the better the results.

5) Unicist Continuous Improvement Technology

The unicist continuous improvement technology described in the following synthesis allows the development of changes considering the introduction of “changes without changing” based on a participative way to introduce them changing results without changing the real nature of the object/process to be changed.

Conclusions

Big changes have to be considered as necessary changes in order to be communicated internally. They need to be managed integrating the technologies of analytical and fundamental analysis to define the problems.

They need to be sustained by continuous improvement actions and an object driven organization to ensure that the outcome of this change is an effective structured solution and not only a conjunctural subjective approach to solve an extreme need.

Innovative Products Designed as Unicist Business Objects

Innovative products or services need to be designed and managed as unicist business objects in order to avoid their marginalization in the market.

Innovations require having a market position that demonstrates their capacity for generating a superior ROI than the one that is being achieved with succedaneum solutions.

In this case ROI implies, besides a meaningful relationship between investments and income, the existence of collateral benefits.

There is a generalized belief that innovations produce negative side effects. That is why innovations need to be designed to generate evident collateral benefits in order to be desirable.

The improvements of innovations need to include necessarily results, process and systemic improvements. This requires being fully aware of how an innovation is used. Sometimes it might become necessary to build additional objects to complement the use of innovations in order to ensure their functionality.

The quality assurance of an innovation is given by its objective value which is defined by the reference, cost and opportunity values.

The speed of introduction of innovations is multiplied when it has been designed as a business object. If this is not the case the products need to be redesigned or complemented in order to work and be perceived as objects.
